On November 24, 2023, at the initiative of the State Enterprise “TajikNIIGiM” (Research Institute of Water Engineering and Land Reclamation) under the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan, a training was held on the topic “International and National Water Law”, dedicated to the Day of the State Flag of the Republic of Tajikistan.
This event was attended by representatives of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Institute of Water Problems, Hydropower and Ecology of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science and Law named after A. Bakhovaddinov of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, Tajik State University of Commerce and State Enterprise “TajikNIIGiM” under the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The opening speech was made by the General Director of the SE “TajikNIIGiM”, Dr. D. M. Umarov, who considered it necessary to conduct training on acquiring legal knowledge on the use and protection of water, congratulated the participants on the National Flag Day and introduced them to the training program.
The trainer was Jabborov Farhodjon Nozimovich, head of the department for advanced training of employees of the water sector of the State Institution “TajikNIIGiM”, PhD of legal sciences.
At this educational training, the following issues were discussed: the concept, sources and principles of public international law, international water law: concept, sources and principles, international legal documents on water, international legal water cooperation of the Republic of Tajikistan, the concept, subject and sources of national water rights, water policy of the Republic of Tajikistan and water sector reforms, legal liability for violation of water legislation.
During the event, participants solved tests and crossword puzzles on the topic under consideration.
